How can An OverC health advocate help me?
At OverC, we are a group of health professionals that can assist you in managing your personal health care needs. Our healthcare professionals know and understand health care, and are able to:
- gather and organize your health information
- outline your health care options and facilitate decision making
- communicate effectively and efficiently with the people who work within the healthcare system
- assist in managing your health care appointments, including attending the appointment with you, if requested
How do I get started?
To get started, call the OverC office at 306.934.2535, email at admin@overchealth.ca, or drop into our office at 210-810 Central Avenue in Saskatoon. We will answer any questions you may have about our services and discuss your particular needs. Typically we will set up an initial meeting between you and one of our health professionals; this would usually be a face to face meeting, but it may be done by phone or virtual depending on the circumstances.
What happens at my initial meeting?
At your initial meeting, an OverC representative will interview you to collect detailed health information, which is used both to set up your PHR and to identify your present needs. This meeting can be booked at our office, in your home, at work, or at another mutually agreed upon location.
What should I have with me at the initial meeting?
You can bring along any health information you have on hand, such as a list of current health care providers, medications, and health history. A consent form will be provided for you to sign which will enable OverC to obtain additional health information.
What is a digital Personal Health Record (PHR)?
A personal health record (PHR) is a complete organized file of all of your health and health care information. If it is digital then it can be stored on a computer or internet. OverC creates a complete digital health record for all clients and this is essential for managing our clients health care appointments, correspondence, decision making and all other aspects. The clients have access to this record as do their designated supporters.
6. Will I have the same OverC health professional for every service?
Yes. At the initial meeting, you will meet your OverC professional who will be responsible for all of your services. You and your OverC professional will develop a working relationship and he/she will always look after your needs. At times another OverC professional may be added to your team depending on your circumstances.
Are there limits or constraints to what OverC can do for me?
Our goal is to help you manage the challenges of dealing with your health, and in particular, the healthcare system. Any request which contributes to this goal in some way will be considered, although it must be legal, fall within the Canada Health Act, and not contradict the professional licenses of our healthcare personnel.
What are your rates for services?
The initial fee is $250.00. This fee covers your initial meeting with an OverC representative, creation of your PHR, and assistance in developing your health care plan. Our regular rate for services is $22.50 per 10 minute unit. For more information, see our Price Guide page.
How do I pay for the services?
